"K" Pattern Design

While the Kaplan brand's distinctive "K" is most often utilized as an icon, it can serve a unique role when adapted into a pattern. I've had the opportunity to create patterns for large-scale environmental graphics that not only add subtle branding to Kaplan schools' interiors, but also function as a means to create privacy manifestations. I've also used the "K" icon to create interesting digital textures, used yearly for the international Kaplan employee awards show, the "Kaplan Way Awards."

In the Kaplan Financial school (Reading, UK) the "K" pattern is applied to glass near the entryway. The light blue printed vinyl shapes add visibility to the glass, but are transparent enough to not hide the view into the lobby area.

At Kaplan International (New York, NY), the "K" pattern in white vinyl spans the window frames, creating privacy for an office space. Larger "K"s playfully interrupt the smaller pattern.

In these renderings of Kaplan Headquarters' Executive Area (Fort Lauderdale, FL), the "K" pattern is cut out of acoustic privacy panels.

For Kaplan's annual employee awards ceremony, I adapted the "K" pattern into a fun and festive digital pattern, utilized as a background graphic for monitors at Kaplan locations, presentation slides during the ceremony, and images for the event page on Kaplan's internal site.
